Shipping Speed
Amazon winsStandard AliExpress shipping runs ten to thirty days; choosing a local-warehouse listing can cut that to under a week, but it is not the default. Amazon's one to five days is a different category of service.
Head-to-head
AliExpress sells single units at prices close to wholesale, with a catalogue of components and niche parts that mainstream retail simply does not carry. Amazon costs more and arrives in days. Both answers are correct in different situations.
Best for: fast, trusted, everyday shopping
The most predictable option in most countries where it operates. You pay a little more than the discount marketplaces, and you get short delivery windows and a returns process that rarely needs arguing.
Our overall pickBest for: niche parts and rock-bottom prices
Enormous catalogue of components, hobby parts and accessories at prices close to wholesale, with single-unit ordering. Sensible choice when you know exactly what you want and can wait for it.
Buying a branded product, or need it soon? Amazon. Hunting a specific component, hobby part or accessory at the lowest possible price with no deadline? AliExpress is the stronger option.

Amazon is more consistent overall. AliExpress gives you unusually good per-store data — order counts, ratings by dimension, dispute history — so a careful buyer can pick well. The floor is lower; the ceiling with diligence is respectable.
Amazon prints a label and refunds within days. On AliExpress, return terms vary by listing and posting a low-value item back to another continent is often uneconomic; disputes usually settle as a partial or full refund without a return.
For branded goods, Amazon. AliExpress is excellent for generic and unbranded parts, which is much of what people buy there, but branded listings need real seller vetting.
Amazon resolves faster with less back-and-forth. AliExpress Buyer Protection does work — payment is held in escrow and the dispute window is clearly defined — it just takes longer and expects you to document the problem.

Finished devices with a warranty. For loose components, modules and cables, AliExpress is both cheaper and better stocked.
Amazon
Sizing risk plus slow return postage makes cheap apparel a false economy on long-haul routes.
Amazon
Faster and simpler for everyday household items, unless you want something niche enough that retail does not stock it.
AliExpress
Microcontrollers, connectors, RC and 3D-printing spares, repair parts and obscure accessories, at single-unit prices near wholesale. AliExpress wins this outright.
