Analytics

This site does not run Google Analytics, Meta Pixel or any advertising or cross-site tracking pixel.

Aggregate request-level information — such as which pages are requested, approximate location derived from an IP address, referrer and browser type — is processed by our hosting platform for delivery, security and basic traffic counting. That processing is a normal part of serving a website and is not used to build a profile of you or to target advertising.

If we add a full analytics product later, this page will be updated first, and any non-essential analytics will be gated behind consent where consent is legally required.

Cookies set by this site

We do not set advertising or analytics cookies. The site can be read without accepting anything. Strictly necessary storage may be used to keep the interface working — for example remembering that a panel is open — and that is not used for tracking.

Affiliate and retailer tracking

Product buttons on this site are affiliate links. Following one hands you over to the retailer — usually Amazon — which may set its own cookies to attribute the referral and may record the visit under its own privacy policy. That activity is controlled by the retailer, not by us.

We receive commission reporting from affiliate programmes in aggregate form. It tells us that a purchase happened, not who you are.

Search on this site

On-site search runs against our own published content. Search terms are not tied to an identity, are not sold and are not shared with an advertising network.

Contact email handling

If you email us or use the contact page, we keep your message, your email address and our reply so we can follow up and so we can document corrections. We do not add you to a marketing list. Correspondence is deleted once it is no longer needed, normally within 24 months.

Third-party services actually in use

• ✓Our hosting and application platform, which serves every page and processes request logs.
• ✓Our managed backend database, which stores published content such as affiliate link records — not reader data.
• ✓Google Fonts, used to load the site's typefaces, which involves a request to Google's font servers.
• ✓Affiliate networks, including Amazon Associates, which are only involved once you follow an outbound link.

Data retention

Server and platform request logs are retained for a short operational period for security and troubleshooting. Email correspondence is retained as described above. We do not maintain reader accounts, so there is no reader profile to retain.

Your choices and privacy requests

You can browse the entire site without an account and block cookies in your browser without losing functionality. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted.

To make a request, use the contact page and describe what you want. We will respond to the email address you write from.

What we never do
