Amazon vs Temu Return Policy Explained
Temu gives you a longer window. Amazon gives you a faster resolution. Both matter, but not in the same situations.

Our Temu score
Best for: low-cost everyday goods with no deadline
The windows
Amazon's standard return window is about 30 days from delivery in most markets, extended during holiday periods and shortened for some categories. Temu allows roughly 90 days on most items, with the first return on an order free in most markets.
If your reason for returning things is that you changed your mind weeks later, Temu is the more forgiving platform. That is a real advantage and worth stating plainly.
Who pays postage
Amazon usually provides a prepaid label and, in many markets, drop-off points that need no packaging. Some seller-fulfilled returns deduct postage from the refund, so check the label the return flow gives you.
Temu covers the first return per order in most markets; subsequent returns from the same order may be charged. On very low-value items, Temu sometimes refunds without asking for the item back, which saves everyone the freight.
Refund timing
Amazon typically issues the refund when the carrier scans the parcel, so money often lands within a few days. Temu refunds after the return is processed, and cross-border legs make that slower — plan for one to two weeks rather than days.
The exceptions to check
On both platforms, hygiene items, opened cosmetics, perishables, personalised goods and some large appliances sit outside the standard policy. Amazon also treats digital content and gift cards separately.
If a deadline matters — a gift, a trip, a warranty claim — the return window is the wrong safeguard. Delivery speed is, and that is Amazon's strength.
